Full-Time Pastor opening:

First Baptist Church of Sweetwater, TN is prayerfully seeking a full-time head pastor. We are asking the Lord to send a man who is called and ordained by God to be the spiritual leader and under-shepherd for this church family.  We are praying for a pastor with leadership qualities who will preach God’s word without apology.  We want a pastor to lead for as long as the Lord wills and ask candidates to give careful and prayerful consideration before submitting a resume to Pastorsearchfbcsweet@gmail.com. Resumes and other information can be mailed to Pastor Search Committee FBC Sweetwater, 303 Wright Street, Sweetwater TN 37874 but email is preferred.  All resumes and any other information submitted will remain strictly confidential and will be seen only by FBC Sweetwater Pastor Search Committee members. We will guard your privacy during this process.  Candidates who are selected for further consideration will be asked to consent to reference checks, credit check and a full background check.

Culture:

Sweetwater is located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains off of I-75 between Knoxville and Chattanooga. It was rated by TravelMag as one of Tennessee’s ten most charming cities. The population is around 6,500 and the town is growing with new businesses coming in, including Red Stag Distribution Center which plans to employ 3,500 people.

FBC Sweetwater, TN is a welcoming church for people in all stages and seasons of life. We have a blended style of worship and are grounded in God’s word. Our website and FaceBook page let folks know we are imperfect people who don’t care how they are dressed or how many tattoos they have, that we are together through God’s grace, and they’re welcome here.

Our church is in a period of growth with young families coming in as well as a growing youth program! The church staff is united not only in faith, but in love for each other and the church family. We are striving towards the goals on our mission statement and are excited for the future God has for us.

Opportunities and Desired Results: Our church desires to continue to see lives changed, baptisms, salvations, missionaries sent both in the local area and beyond, and disciples made.  We are meeting established church goals as outlined in our strategic plan and are seeing an increase in numbers of new people serving and new small groups being formed.  Our current growth is something we want as an ongoing, continual experience.

Our members have opportunities to serve the families of Sweetwater and FBC Sweetwater who are in crisis by ministering to them in their needs personally as well as through the Renew Recovery program sponsored weekly and led by members.
